7 awards for Zindagi
The Idea 57th Filmfare Awards at the Film City studio, Mumbai, saw a few rising stars of the Bollywood industry on Sunday 29 Jan. The event was hosted by the Badshah ‘Shah Rukh Khan and handsome Ranbir Kapoor’.
The stars and celebrities walked down the red carpet, dressed in their classy gorgeous best to celebrate the biggest of Hindi Cinema ‘Filmfare awards show’.
Gen next superstar Ranbir Kapoor bagged the best actor award for his film ‘Rockstar’ and bold and beautiful Vidya Balan won the best actress award for her performance in ‘The Dirty Picture’.
Rekha and Yash Chopra presented the Best Actor Award to Ranbir Kapoor as he reacted, “I’ve evolved wanting a Best Actor Award, as this is my fourth award. Every dream seems to turn into a reality and I feel great. Thank you Imtiaz. I love you and thank you sir for giving me hope and motivation. All thanks for giving me Rockstar.”
Sridevi and Boney Kapoor gave away the Best Actress Award to Vidya Balan, as she responded, “It has been a night where women have out-shone and this award goes out to the women in my life… it goes out to every woman. Not to forget every individual in the team of The Dirty Picture, mainly Milan Lutharia.”
The evening saw Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ grab 7 most popular awards – Best Film, Best Director, Best Dialogue, Best Supporting Actor (Male), Best Movie (Critics), Best Cinematography and Best Choreography.
Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’ snapped five Filmfare awards- Best Actor, Best Actor (critics), Best Music Director, Best Lyrics Award and Best Playback (Male).
The best music director award was won by Oscar winner AR Rahman for ‘Rockstar’, and he was honored with 2500th diamond-studded Filmfare trophy.
Priyanka Chopra and actor-musician Ali Zafar performed at their best on this event, with other celebrities including Deepika Padukone, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza.
Shah Rukh and Ranbir’s crackling comedies while hosting the show added more color and fun to the show.
