SANTA CLARA, CA: On Saturday, November 20, Amitesh Mishra, M.D., a physician practicing in the Bay Area for the past nine years and an accomplished musician, hosted the release of his second album, ‘Milan,’ at Bay Area’s desi party hot spot, Avalon Night Club in Santa Clara, California with a sellout crowd of over 500.

Kavita Mishra, Amitesh’s wife organized a night filled with warm hospitality, friends, family, and a lot of support from the community along with special guest performances by Bay Area singers, Harjeet Mehndi (Daler Mehndi & Mika Singh’s brother), Anisha Bakshi, Madhvi Mehta and Seema Shah’s Dance Troupe. Along with being a singer, composer, and director of ‘Milan,’ Amitesh was also a lyricist for the album. Many other talented Bay Area artists worked on the technical side of the album such as Mike Walti, Raashan Ahand, Manesh Judge, and Kush Khanna.

The evening was a showcase of Mishra’s Indi-pop fusion album, ‘Milan,’ with songs such as Teri Zulfein, Ya Hari, Shabakher, and ABCD. “ABCD is a good dance number and we really enjoyed it,” Mahesh Hingorani told India Post. Mahesh added, “We had a lot of fun and I can’t explain how much I really enjoyed dancing to all the songs.”

Growing up, practically all artists have several musical influences and so did Amitesh. From the training he received from his father, Gajendra Mishra, his formal training in guitar, playing in band during high school at Mission San Jose in Fremont and later on in college, to a light classical background in Hindustani music, this album brought together Amitesh’s varied musical influences.

“Amitesh had us captivated throughout the whole performance,” Anju Sharma told India Post and DJ Precaution, Roneel Prakash, rocked the after party with the hottest dance tracks.

Last year, Amitesh released his first album under the Wize Mindz label, called ‘Hindustan Ki Kudi’ or HDK. HDK was a compilation of nine songs. “I’m able to do this with a work schedule where I get three to four days straight to concentrate on music and a lot of support from my wife, Kavita,” Amitesh told India Post.

It’s a lovely book. It feels energetically clear and light. It’s easy to read, dip in and out and most importantly it offers information without fluff! Blessings on this project.
