SAN JOSE, CA: Indian and Pakistani superstar singers, Neha Kakkar and Atif Aslam delivered an electrifying performance here on May 11 in a four-hour concert presented by Instant Karma. Shree Balaji productions was the national promoter of the tour. The popular duo proved that creativity and art has no boundaries and succeeded in bringing their fans from both countries together in great numbers to the City National Civic, San Jose for a completely sold-out show with over 3000 fans.
Atif Aslam is a Pakistani singer-songwriter and actor. He has recorded numerous chart-topping songs and is known for his vocal belting technique. The singer’s entrance onto the stage at a packed arena in San Jose this past weekend was quite the act in classic Atif Sufi style. The crowd was singing, swaying, swooning and totally smitten by his performance and talent.
With a dedicated team of musicians and backup singers supporting him, Atif belted out his hit songs like Tere sang yaran, Dama dum mast kalandar, Na seekha maine, Tu jaane na, Allah hoo, Dil Diyan Gallan, Tera Hone Laga Hoon, Main Rang Sharbaton Ka, O Saathi”.
His effortless performance, a fusion of energy, versatility and flair with the ability to switch flawlessly from the Bollywood genre to folk music, qawalis and pop songs makes him one of the most sought after Bollywood artistes. Atif is recipient of numerous Lux Style Awards and has also received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2008, the fourth-highest decoration given to civilians in Pakistan.
Neha Kakkar is an Indian playback-singer. She competed on the television reality show Indian Idol season 2 in 2006. In 2008, she launched the album Neha The Rock Star with music composed by Meet Brothers. She has sung the national anthem at Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) along with Daler Mehndi and with the member of Indian Ocean band Rahul Ram. Neha Kakkar is one of the finest Indian versatile playback singers.
She is multi talented and rocked the stage belting her hit numbers such as Kala chasma from Baar Baar Dekho, Mere Rashke Qamar, Mile ho tum humko barre nasib se, Ladki beautiful kar gai chul, Tu cheese baddi hai mast mast, Mai tera boy friend tu meri girlfriend, Ye Tu Kabhi Soch Na Sake. She also sang the famous song ‘Sayonee’ from Junoon’s album Azadi. With dance numbers and item songs being her forte, Neha enthralled the crowd with more such numbers at the concert.
