ST LOUIS: A badminton tournament was held in Saint Louis as a family activity to support and spread the word for Bright Life Foundation (BLF).

BLF (a non-profit organization) was founded by Dr Subbarao Polineni, who built a school in Martur, India, for underprivileged kids, orphans and HIV positive kids. Currently this school has 300+ students and continues to grow. Mr & Mrs Polineni invested more than $1 million in this organization.

In spite of being a cancer survivor, at the age of 70, Dr. Polineni works hard to make his dream turn into reality.
Inspired by Polineni’s hard-work, dedication, and kindness, Ram Kudaravalli, the organizer of the tournament, planned this event to propagate BLF by conducting this as a Family Fun event to reach the people of different communities.
The tournament was held last month at Saint Louis Christian Academy. Ram Kudaravalli thanked the participants for their support for BLF and the cause.

The tournament contained multiple events like Women’s Doubles (WD), Family Doubles (FD), Men’s Singles (MS) and Men’s Doubles (MD). over 60 participants (including kids) registered and played in multiple events.

Following are the Winners and Runners-up in each category:
Winners: Bhavana & Nalini (WD); Subbu & Divya (FD); Sreekanth Peyyeti (MS); Harpreet & Jim (MD); Harsha Chimakurthy (Consolation Prize)
Runners-Up: Lakshmi Datla & Josaphine (WD); Parag & Swaraj (FD); Harpreet (MS); Narendra Datla & Radha Krishna (MD); Raju Vanka (Consolation Prize)
Dr. Subbarao talked about the school and its self-sustaining policies. Later trophies were handed to the Winner and Runner-up categories by Polineni family and the volunteers.

Through this tournament and donations, an amount close to $6000 was raised and it was handed over to the BLF treasurer. Dr. Polineni, in his appreciation of the gesture observed, with BLF’s self-sustaining “Feed a Child program” this amount will feed about 8-10 kids indefinitely for a life-long.
