CHICAGO: A front ranking Indian community activist Dr Bharat Barai will join the august company of Lagos State House Assembly Speaker Nigeria Mr. Mudashini Ajai Obasa and a renowned international photographer. Reza Deghati receiving Congressional Award at the Seventh Annual Congressional Awards Gala 2017 slated here for Sunday October 29.

The Gala is being hosted by 7th District Congressman Danny Davis Multi-Ethnic Advisory Task Force and will feature eminent international luminaries. The Nigerian Speaker Mudashini Ajai Obasa will receive the Golden Eagle Award while Reza Deghati globally recognized famed photographer coming from Paris will get the International Photographer of the Year Award.

Special guests from India A. Krishnamohan, Vice President of All India Human Rights Commission and Captain Arun Chakraborty, National Coordinator of All India Human Rights Commission and a decorated war hero of Kargil Conflict, are expected to address the congressional gala.

Dr Bharat Barai, a leading Oncologist who is a prominent community figure, will receive the Man of the Year Award. Deepak Kant Vyas, CEO, Redberri Corporation St. Louis, MO will be honored with Light of the Year award. S.V. Anchan, Chairman of Safesea Group, New Jersey will receive International Man of the Year award and Dr. Sreenivas Reddy & Dr. Lalitha Reddy, the Couple of the Year award.

The awards gala will be attended by international guests and other distinguished figures. Multicultural ethnic dances featuring Columbian and South Asian presentations will be showcased for the first time.

The culmination will be with a wide array of delectable ethnic food. The event will be held at the Meadows Convention Center in Rolling Meadows, a northwest suburb of Chicago, at 6 pm.
