Bohemia, king of Punjabi rap, to perform at FOG

IMG_92140-webThis year the Festival of Globe (FOG) is being celebrated from Aug 7th to Aug 16th. It features SF Global Movie Fest, FOG Awards, Famous Grand Parade and Mela (Fair).

The FOG just added a unique hip blend this year as the rapper known as “Bohemia the king of Punjabi rap” announced his participation at FOG awards. Bohemia is popularly recognized as the creator of Punjabi rap music. His hit singles like ‘Kali Denali’, ‘Charso Bees’ and his appearance in the Bollywood film ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ with Akshay Kumar has put Bohemia in a league of his own as a pioneer of a new genre.

While he was raised in the Bay Area and makes a point of representing California when he writes his songs, this will be the first time Bohemia will perform in California since his ‘Pesa Nasha Pyar’ day almost a decade ago. “This is very similar to when I was invited to the Coke Studios. It will be all live and real and I plan to do an even bigger performance at FOG compared to any of my shows,’ Bohemia said.

Along with an unprecedented live stage performance, Bohemia also plans to be involved as a youth ambassador and help raise funds for the FIA non-profit. Plans include having Bohemia attend board meetings to have a better youth representation. Bohemia also plans to donate money to charity to create awareness among our youth about our values of social and cultural responsibilities.

‘I am very excited to have Bohemia on board; we are actively working on bringing you a festival much bigger than the last one, Bohemia’s participation is a testament to that’ said Dr Romesh Japra, FIA Convener and Chairman.
