LODI, CA: The California Young Republican Federation has endorsed Congressional candidate Ricky Gill, a small business owner and family farmer who is challenging incumbent Rep. Jerry McNerney (D-Pleasanton) in the newly drawn 9th Congressional District.
“Ricky is the ideal candidate to represent our generation in Congress,” said California Young Republican Federation Chairman Joe Sanchis. “He’s not only a formidable campaigner – he’s a serious thinker who understands what’s at stake for our future. From reducing health care costs to ending reckless federal spending, Ricky will work tirelessly to ensure younger generations can avail themselves of the opportunities that make this country great.”
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Young Republicans, who promote the conservative ideals that will secure young Americans’ futures,” said Gill. “With young Americans poised to inherit unprecedented levels of national debt, it is more important than ever that our generation assert itself in Congress.”
“We’re proud to join other conservative leaders in endorsing Ricky for California’s 9th District,” said Sanchis. “We look forward to joining forces with Ricky as he fights to give voters the fresh start they deserve.”
If elected, Gill would become the youngest member of the new Congress.
Gill, who has raised more than $1 million to date, also has received endorsements from national and local leaders including South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and longtime San Joaquin Valley Congressman Norman D. Shumway.
