CHICAGO: On February 28, Anila Sinha Foundation and TV Asia presented Rang Rangili Holi festival at Shree Swaminarayan Temple Midwest-Chicago in Streamwood IL.

More then 100 people participated in this festival. It began the Indian festival of colors “Holi’ through a beautiful dance choreography in the North Indian classical dance style ‘ Kathak’. Dr Birendra Sinha of the Foundation welcomed all invited guests and participants. TV Asia’s Midwest Bureau Chief Vandna Jhingan joined him in greeting all and mentioned that TV Asia is the first Information and Entertainment channel for the South-Asia community in North America.

The network was founded in April-1993, by the legendary Indian movie star Amitabh Bachchan. In 1997 as part of restructuring the network, a well-known entrepreneur and community leader H.R.Shah, took TV Asia and grew it to what it is today – a channel that focuses on the Indian community within the US and brings the community together under the umbrella of culture, tradition and family.

The Holi dance group Nagade sang Dhol Baaje. Holi classical dance was performed by ASF Dance Company with songs like Aaj Biraj mein, Dekho Holi ke Khileiya, Bhangedi, Holi Khelat Hai Girdhari, Holi Aayee Hai Udati Gulal, Krishna-Sakha, Teasing Krishna, Kanha Khelo Kanha. The dances won the heart of all attendees and they asked Dr Birendra Sinha to come out with such entertainment more often.
