Chicago Gayatri Pariwar celebrates Gurupurnima

CHICAGO: Global Gayatri Pariwar Chicago celebrated 108 Kundi Gayatri Yagya on Saturday, July 12 from 11am to 3pm at corner of Lee & Touhy in Desplaines, North West suburb of Chicago.

Addressing the devotees gathered during the celebration, Chief Guest Smt Santosh Kumar, president of Metropolitan Asian Family Services (MAFS) said that Gurudev Pt. Shree Ram Sharma Acharya sought to bring divinity in mankind and thereby heaven on earth.

He penned more than 3,000 books for enlightening the masses and that it is our moral duty to spread his message world wide so that his life time mission is achieved. Prahladbhai Prajapati from Highpoint North Carolina specially came to offer his respect and homage Gurudev on Gurupurnima day. He sang one beautiful song and also gave speech about importance of Guru and why one needs to chant Gayatri Mantra regularly.

Sohanbhai Joshi, a community leader and president of National Federation of Indian Associations (NFIA) and a scholarly priest Rohitbhai Joshi applauded the services of Global Gayatri Pariwar Chicago for the benefit of people. In his lecture, Chote Morari Bapu appealed to devotees to heartily contribute and extend support to Gayatri Shaktipeeth Chicago so that it can easily build a new temple in Desplaines, IL.

Ambalal Patel, Kaolshben Patel, Natverbhai Patel, Madhuben Patel and Minaxiben Kansara were Main Yajmans. All devotees chanted Gayatri Mantra and other mantras besides offering Aauhuti into Gayatri Yagya.

Kusumben Patel and Rajnibhai Modi explained the significance of Gayatri Yagya rituals. Harshaben Thakkar and Bhanuben Darji sang songs. Bhaskarbhai played tabla and Anilbhai Patel played flute. At the end of the program, Kusumben thanked all the guests, devotees and volunteers for their presence and support.
