PALATINE: Chicago Region’s Special Agent in Charge, Robert J. Holley, paid a visit to Sikh Gurdwara in Palatine, a northwest suburb of Chicago on May 30. The purpose of the visit was to meet and greet, and was organized at the behest of Sikh Religious Society (SRS) in Palatine.

Holley was welcomed by society president Mrs Jasbir Kaur Saluja, board members and community leaders and given a tour of the facilities. Jay and Jas Singh presented him a bouquet of flowers. He was treated to an informational presentation about Sikhs.

Holley explained his job responsibilities and the working structure of his staff and various departments, and emphasized his personal passion about the security of citizens. Holley’s past experience and expertise happens to be international counter terrorism.

A free flowing dialogue during Q&A session ensued where curbing the prevalent hate crimes against Sikhs and mitigation of safety and security concerns, and how to complain were discussed.

Holley sat on the floor to observe the Sikh worship congregation. He listened to the keertan (Sikh hymns) and was invited to address the Gurdwara congregation. He also partook of “Langar”.

Robert Holley began his career as a Special Agent with the FBI in 1995. Prior to that Holley served nine years in the US Army as an infantry officer. He was appointed as the Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of investigations Chicago Field Division in November 2013.
