Cleft lip surgeries help kids smile

CHICAGO: Dr. Geetha and Tom Chitta of Foundation for Children in Need (FCN), a not-for-profit organization based in Arlington Heights, a northwest suburb of Chicago, have coordinated free Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Surgeries in collaboration with Smile Network International, Minneapolis, MN, USA headed by Dr. Bob Friedhoff and Dr. Uldis Bite of Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA.

Santhiram Medical College and General Hospital, Nandyal, Kurnool District generously hosted the surgeries from February 1 to 5. The surgeries are done totally free through the generosity of Smile

Network and their Medical team of 25 volunteers, Santhiram Hospital and FCN. 68 children and adults from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States have been enabled to smile by this program. FCN has provided travel expenses. These surgeries will be done again in February 2017.
