MONTCLAIR, CA: Yogum is a new movement to realize, receive and radiate yoga, uniting your intentions and actions to achieve excellence in performance - whether you're an athlete, executive, parent, student, teacher, professional or employee. Paramahamsa Nithyananda (Swamiji), a young Enlightened Master from India and creator of Yogum, launched the Southern California segment of his North American Yogum Tour on March 24 at a press conference.
This was followed by the first of several free evening discourses, "Un-Clutch from the Mind Maze - De-Stress Instantly," on the Patanjali Yoga Sutras. Patanjali is the Father of Yoga, who offered the techniques for centering the mind and enlightenment in the Yoga Sutras, the 5,000-year-old foundational text of yoga.
"Yoga is not about adding movements to our life," says Swamiji. "It is about adding life to one's movements. Yoga awakens the energy to change what you can and the intelligence to accept what you cannot change. It is the essence of all religions."
The final public discourses will take place on April 1 and 2 from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. at the Vedic Temple. The entire schedule can be viewed at www.Yogam4You.org.
On April 3, the free discourses will be followed by the "Kalpataru Program," a unique one-day meditation program for blissful living, designed by Swamiji and being offered for the first time in the USA during his spring tour. Through meditation techniques, one learns how to live a fulfilled life with more love, happiness and compassion.
Following the Kalpataru Program is the weekend-long Yoga Spurana Program, the most traditional and authentic way of orally transmitting the deeper truths of yoga from a Master to a disciple in true Vedic style. Swamiji will give a completely new slant to the popular understanding of yoga - where it is now and where it is meant to take us - and awaken participants to the real understanding of yoga as conceived and expressed by Patanjali himself.
