Naren appointed VP of Vishwa Gujarati Samaj
CHICAGO: Naren Patel, chairman of Medstar Laboratory, Chicago has added one more feather in his cap. He has been elected for two years as the Vice President of Vishwa Gujarati Samaj, a global organization based in India.

CHICAGO: Naren Patel, chairman of Medstar Laboratory, Chicago has added one more feather in his cap. He has been elected for two years as the Vice President of Vishwa Gujarati Samaj, a global organization based in India.
An International Organization for the Gujarati Community settled all over the world, VGS has amassed membership of more than 1,000 members globally in the course of two decades of its existence. One of the considerations in electing Naren Patel as VP by the Samaj members was that the leader like him would help bring all Gujaratis, especially from USA, under one umbrella of VGS. Naren Patel is planning a head start in this direction this summer and invite all Gujaratis to join Vishwa Gujarati Samaj.
A patron of all causes supporting educational, health, cultural and humanitarian services he is among a very visible few in the community who stood by the community as he succeeded in his business. As the founder of Medstar he helps the newly arriving immigrants to find employment and health insurance benefits.
He is the president of Care & Share USA International. Under his leadership Care & Share built 50 houses for help the victims of Tsunami Disaster.
He was instrumental in building a school for blind in Kerala, homes for victims of 2001 Gujarat Earthquake. He is the current President of the Association for Indians in America (AIA) and has been active in FIA serving in important assignments during its programs in Chicago.
He is recipient of many prestigious awards from many organizations including Association of Indian Pharmacists in America (AIPHA), Indian American Medical Association Charitable Foundation (IAMACF), City of Chicago from Mayor Richard Daley, Outstanding Leadership Award from the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Cook County, Dorothy Brown and recently Outstanding Leader Award from Indian American Democratic Organization.
President Krishnakant Vakharia is a Senior Advocate from the Gujarat High Court and is set to lend his full support to Naren Patel in his efforts to enlist more members for the Samaj, especially in USA. Naren Patel told India Post that the annual membership fee is $25 per couple or five years for $100 per couple. The patron membership is also available for $1,000 per couple. All members will receive a quarterly Vishwa Gujarati Samaj magazine from India and are encouraged to participate in all community activities.
VGS has its principle office in Ahmedabad.
