TANA-MAA TV Super Singer Finals at TANA Conference

CHICAGO: In preparation for the 17th biennial convention of Telugu Association of North America in Rosemont Convention Center, Chicago, from July 2 to July 4, TANA Cultural Committee is inviting entries for participation in TANA-MAA TV North American Super Singer Competition.

he committee has announced that TANA, in collaboration with the popular MAA TV, is conducting a first of its kind, unique talent search among North American Telugu singers. The competition in three rounds will culminate into finals of the MAA TV Super Singers III competition on the main stage during primetime at the 17th TANA Conference on Friday, July 3 and will be telecast by MAA TV.”

Starting Wednesday, May 13, MAA TV would present a new competition, Super Singers III, featuring the finalists and winners of its hugely popular recent competitions, Super Singers, Super Singer Juniors, and Rela Re Rela. Three teams of six singers would battle through 26 episodes where six top singers would emerge to win the right to compete in the Finals on TANA Conference Main Stage on July 3.

They would join the finalists of the North American Super Singers Competition. It was recommended that the Telugu community watch MAA TV on Wednesday and Thursday evenings for this exciting and unique program.

The North American Supersingers Competition would begin with first round competitions in Toronto, New Jersey, Orlando, Dallas, Detroit and San Jose between May 29 and June 8. Two winners from each of these competitions would participate in the Semifinals to be conducted on TANA Main Stage on July 2. From these, two finalists would compete for the TANA Super Singer Title on July 3. Both the Semifinals and the Finals would be televised by MAA TV.

TANA-MAA TV Super Singer Singer III competition would be hosted by the famous anchor Suma, and judged by Mano, Suddala Ashok Teja, Chandra Bose and Goreti Venkanna, all of whom would be present during the Finals at the TANA Conference.

The participating singers include the sensational Junior singers — Sugandhini, Jayant Madhur, Sumasri, Haripriya, and Krishna Tejaswi; Senior singers Ravali, Jayasimha, Srinidhi, Jyothsna, and Sowmya along with the Rela Re Rela singers Bangaru Raju, Janaki Rao, Geetha Madhuri, Swami, Vijay, and Ravi. The Young Sensations Pranavi, Srikrishna, and Shiva Nagulu will be mentoring the singers.

The exciting Finals can be watched live only at the TANA Conference.

i like madhupriya from juniors. the way she performs and sings is really amazing. judges sri suddala ashokteja and sri goreti venkannagaru are simply superb. the songs of them is really heart touching and amazing.

This program is very good but seems like it's only intended to promote super seniors (Krishna's group).Judges are showing their Partiality to that team always giving very high marks where as they are not giving enough marks when chota challengers performs well and putting some harsh comments.Instead of encouraging juniors they are doing negative feedback.

I have been watching this program since beginning don't think judges never gave correct marks except for "Madhu Priya".

For example last two episodes of quarter finals, when "Geeta Madhuri" sang though she didn't excel but all judges gave 9's, same with "Jostna" she only deseves to get 7 and may be max 8 but all judges gave her 9's.When Krishna Tejevey & Sugandhini sang none of them got '9's though they performed much much better others, in addition Mr. Manu mentioned he would have given only 7 which is shame for him to say such words for little soliders.

When senior's mentor used life line two judges given him 9 and Mr.Ashok Teja gave a 10, I don't think he sang that well to get 10, in contrast when Pranavi sang on other night every one gave her 8.

It looks like intention of the program is to stop chota challengers talent other wise they will over take every one.
It's better to not to conduct such programs which are planned to just discourage innocent little ones.

Program anchor "Suma" also playing nice job to help them by providing well support to seniors and asking again & again to rethink about their decision and get more marks for seniors.

It's totally a one sided judges and anchors conducting a program just to promote untalented seniors as winners.

I like Chota Challengers are good and going win the title, every one in that group are very good singers excel one girl.

I like Sumasri, Sugandhini,Jayant Madhur and Krishna Tejevi ofcourse Madhu Priya when it comes to folks songs she is no 1, but light music I vote for Krishna Tejevi and Sumasri.

Junior's mentor need to rethink about song selections for her group and try to see that songs that they can sing well.
For example Jayant Madhur, he sings high pitch songs very well, Sumasri for fast songs where as krishna tejevi & sugandhini are very good at classical or slow songs.

I agree with Raki,chota challegers not getting correct scores.

I have a little bit angry with chandra bosh ang goreti venkanna.B'coz they had given only 9 marks to sugandhini when she sang "jolajo lamma jola" song from sutradarulu.I would say that any singer won't sing that song better tha n sugandhini.

I love this program, usually I record it and watch it again when I am having time.

Basically I like folk songs and watched all episodes of rela-re-rela, round1,2 and now 3.

One song 'maa voori chinthallo kolatamadeti Oooo pilla' by Ravi haunted me for long. That was extra ordinary, the way he sang with one charanam in telugu and one in his own laguage and then at the end with rela-re-rela saaki was superb. That shows his love and passion towards his culture and language. Best of luck Ravi, God bless you.

So Sad... Jayanth eliminated which is very bad. If jayanth not there, then it wont be interested to watch Idea super singer 3. We dont agree for this result. We need Jayanth performance more. He is having bright and very good future.

Chota challengers program was great, Mentor was very good, i admire Jayanth, & Krishna their performance was super no words to express, the way they presented them selves in stage, even adults should learn lot of things from them, i don't mind having them spending one summer with us in New York, take them around us, i have to congaradulte their parents, for good job, i am in love with them, Janant & Krishna will have great success in thier life, god bless them.

I believe Folk fighters are doing good job. Ravi has unique voice ,very ideal for folk songs. One should appreciate his presentation . I regularly watch the show for his impeccable performance. I Like Bangara raju aswell.
They really represent rustic voice of Andhra Pradesh.One from Telangana and the other from Nothern AP.

Waiting eagerly for Finals. This program has got everything that is required - talented participants, different concept, popular anchor and excellent judges. There have been many singing shows but not even one dedicated to folksongs until Relare.rela.. Great attempt to keep alive folksongs. Each one of Judges being very talented in their fields, without thier comments, this program whould definitely would have not been this successful. Madhu Priya is truly an inspired singer, most of the viewers who saw her song 'Aada pillanamma' would have definitely cried. Bangaru Raju voice is excellent.

Hi,

I like Chota challengers team, all singers are very good especially Krishna Tejeswi who got eliminated because of Chandra bose always gave a harsh comments to demoralize and stopped him entering into the finals but still he won better prize for his hard work by winning national level 1 st prize.

I next vote for Sugandhini who is also a versatile singer and I wish her all the best and sure she will win the title. Suma Sri also very good singer she is no#2 in the team because she can't sing classical songs that well where as Jayanth & Madhu Priya can sing certain songs well but can't sing different types of songs.

I wish Folk fighters also all the best, like Ravi & Bangaru Raju very much. I want Ravi to win People's choice and best team for Folk fighters and best singer to Sugandhini.

Super seniors are given over publicity and more points than they really deserve, only Sri Nidhi & Anjana Somya (unfortunately she got eliminated) are good rest of the team not at all a good singers. Especially Mr. Praveen over action guy who is not even qualified singer to be in the competition don't know how he got selected may be with Minister recommendation.

Idea supersinger 111 who is the best is a nice programme but the classical tinge of super soldiers and chota challengers cannot be compared with folk songs of folk fighters. The first two groups' performance is very difficult infact. They are all classical singers and they did their best in which issue the parents and their mentors should be congratulated.Folk fighter too did extremely well But their talent's aspect is totally different.They can not be matched. The order is1.classicalmusic,light music and then folk.Though the first two groups could do justice for all the three,folk fighters could not sing even one song in classical music.Anyway the experiment was good. though sentiments were hurt sometimes.

The Hero of this episode is undoubdtedly Sri.Mano.But for him the accuracy of judgement would not have been possible. Once he commented that it was not a competition of literature but it was a Music competition.We agree with him 100%The remaining three judges are more of writers than of musicians. Especially sri.Venkanna garu never gave a proper judgement when the songs were of very high quality. It is not criticising him but he is not a trained musician.Srikrishna,Pranavi,Sreenidhi,Jyotsna,and Sumasree have done extremely good job They are the best singers.Hence Jayaho these children and Mano.Thanks for providing this facility of expressing our views.Now we are very happy that we could voice our opinion at some place.In the same way,the best singer Bhuvanakrithi also was demoralised by the judges.Suma does lots of unwanted things and talks unnecessarily.she is there just to announce not to praise everybody without proper judgement.

I believe all of the perfomers are talented, Every one will have their day(s). Adapillanamma song by Madhupriya was very inspiring, but she seems to have modified the song ( the way she sings now) to the commerical aspects of the tv. That song, which depicted her inner agony, when first heard in Jan 2009, touched millions and inspired lot more. Now she lost the human touch and emotion is missing. She has so much talent which we may come to see more in the coming future. My personal favourite is Sugandhini.. May the best win
