ORANGE, CA: Sikh Lens, Southern California’s premiere film and art experience for everything “Sikh-centric,” is holding the 2010 Sikh Art & Film Festival November 19-21at the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University.
“The festival’s aim is to showcase Sikh art and film to not only Sikhs but to transcend cultural boundaries and create awareness within the greater population. We are very happy to be having the festival at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts this year as the location serves as the perfect setting for the festival to instill cultural and religious awareness,” exclaimed Tina Anand, festival co-chair
The three-day festival kicks off with a red carpet opening celebration, a cluster of short films, live entertainment and the premiere of the 2011 SikhPoint calendar. The evening continues with a delectable dessert and dancing reception for guests as they enjoy the beautiful Sikh and cultural aesthetics surrounding them. Saturday and Sunday events include special film clusters and programs each focusing on matters aimed to ignite passion and instill inspiration within the community, including youth-focused films, creative Sikhs panel, a Sikhs-of-the-world film cluster and for the first time the festival will be featuring an interactive segment on film-making.
