FREMONT: The largest Diwali Mela and Fireworks organized by FIA and Fremont Hindu Temple in Bay Area dedicated a special area to Gadar heroes. Gadar movement was started by a few dedicated and committed brave Indian students at UC Berkeley hundred years ago in 1913 and was genesis of Independence struggle of India. It inspired heroes like Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose. Gadar centenary was celebrated in Bay area with great fervor.

Dr Romesh Japra, Convener and Chairman of FIA, said that Gadar heroes provide great inspiration to youth today and should be role models for commitment, dedication, valor and patriotism they displayed. As culmination to pan US Gadar celebrations, FIA and GOPIO will host a grand symposium on Gadar movement. Many leaders and dignitaries from India are also expected to attend.

Dr Japra felicitated Mrs Ritu Maheshwari for her efforts and dedication to Gadar awareness program and community services. Ritu has been actively involved in creating awareness and organizing functions in Bay area to highlight sacrifices made by Gadar heroes.
