EVANSTON: First Bank & Trust announced last August that it would donate $2.50 to a local nonprofit organization for every “like” the bank received on its Facebook page through December 2014. Now, thanks to an overwhelmingly successful campaign, First Bank & Trust has decided that it will continue the initiative through May 2015.

“First Bank & Trust is dedicated to supporting non-profits in our community, and we feel this promotion is a wonderful way of promoting worthy causes,” said Michael Yohanan, Assistant Vice President of Marketing at First Bank & Trust. “With the first promotion, we were amazed at how many people in our community came forward to support their favorite non-profit organizations by liking our Facebook page, and the non-profits were ecstatic to not only receive the funds but also to increase their visibility.”

Over the next few months, First Bank & Trust will be donating money to McGaw YMCA in January; Shorefront Legacy Center in February; The Woman’s Club of Evanston in March; Citizens’ Greener Evanston in April and Curt’s Cafe in May.

Donations will be made each month, to a maximum of $500.
