CHICAGO: With over three decades of existence in Chicagoland, Gandhi Samaj of Chicago is gearing itself to celebrate Diwali festival on grandest possible scale this year under the stewardship of Hitesh Gandhi.
In a talk to this paper Hitesh Gandhi said that his Board members have decided to have celebrations this time at a really auspicious place and the choice fell on Hanuman Mandir in Glen Ellyn, a north side suburb of Chicago. The event is slated to take place on Saturday November 5 at 6 pm. It is expected to last till around mid night since it will be studded with awe inspiring cultural presentations, Diwali Garba and culminating with serving of dinner that will have mouth watering dishes.
The Diwali celebration comes close on the heels of Gandhi Samaj successfully hosting Navratri Garba festival that was attended by hundreds of members and guests. The Diwali fete will also attract close to 800 guests and invitees. “We have a good number of sponsors and we are confident that this will be one of the top most Diwali events in our land here,” said a beaming Hitesh Gandhi.
