Hari Om Mandir celebrates Devi Jagran

CHICAGO: Hari Om Mandir celebrated Chaitra Navratre Devi Jagran on Tuesday April 5 with a large number of devotees attending nine-day festival observed in the month of Chaitra.

Asha Khanna from New York was in attendance and with her very emotive rendition of Maa ki Bhentein, many of the devotees kept dancing in front of Devi idol for special blessings. Several attendees came from afar to attend the Jagran
Chaitra Navratri is one of the most important festivals of Hindus. Devotees worship Maa Shakti, Goddess of cosmic power during this time and wish to be bestowed by divine benediction. Fasting and praying mark the Navratri celebrations. On the eighth and ninth day, Yagna (sacrifice offered to the fire) is performed to honor Durga Mata and bid her farewell. On these days Kanya Puja is performed.

Maa ke Bhagat Subhash Sharma was recognized with Dhyanu Bhagat award for his continuous service for past twenty years (1994-2014) at Hari Om Mandir Jagrans. Subhash Sharma and his wife Kiran Sharma was also honored with Mata Ki Chunni by Suchitra Sarkar, Prem Salwan and Nirmal Bagga.

Shastri Yogesh Pandya and Pt. Dinesh Kumar worked hard for decorating the temple beautifully for this occasion.

Priests: Shastri Yogesh Pandya & Pt. Dinesh Kumar Hari Om Mandir located at DuPage County, has statues of all major North Indian gods & goddesses. Every Sunday there is a Havan and general congregation followed by Aarti and Bhojan Prasad. On every first Saturday of the month there is Devi Jagran from 7-10pm. Every Monday there is Shiv Puja and every Tuesday Hanuman Challisa Path is rendered. There are two learned priests available in the temple for Poojas, Havan, Kathas etc in the temple and at home.
