Harish Kolasani elected FIA President

CHICAGO: Harish Kolasani, a young community leader who gained prominence for his exemplary leadership at NRI Seva Foundation, has been unanimously elected as the new FIA President for 2019-2020 at the General Body Meeting held on February 22 at North Shore Banquet Hall in Chicago.
Kolasani served FIA for seven years and has been elected with the newly elected executive board team comprising Ajeet Singh as Executive Vice President, Vishal Chhabria, Amrit Patel and Ruth Verma as Vice Presidents, Satish Dadepogu as Secretary, Emanuel Neela as Treasurer, Uma Katiki as Joint Secretary and Khurram Syed as Joint Treasurer.

A duly constituted election committee under the chairmanship of Iftekhar Shareef conducted the FIA elections after screening nomination forms, membership forms and then announced, clarified, validated and certified that the elections were consistent with the provisions of the FIA constitution.
Newly elected President Kolasani, in his acceptance speech, said, “We will embark on a new journey with a fresh approach to undertake new initiatives that have been hitherto beyond the scope of traditional FIA activities and undertake ambitious community-oriented programs gaining recognition for Indian Americans.”
The general body meeting closed with FIA’s incoming Secretary Dadepogu proposing a vote of thanks.
