CERRITOS, CA: The office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe and the South Asian Helpline and Referral Agency (SAHARA) hosted the inaugural "Emotional Health & Spirituality" Seminar on Sunday April 26 at Liberty Park Hall in Cerritos.

The sold-out seminar emphasized the strong relationship between the title topics and was developed due in large part by the growing demand for mental health services in the rapidly expanding Southern Californian South Asian community.

The event focused on issues ranging from meditation and yoga to emotional and psychological well-being. Guest speakers included noted local physicians Dr Swati Desai, Dr Parul Mehta and Dr Raj Bagat along with the Nithyananda Yoga Foundation and self-healing specialist Naina Kapadia.

Those interested in attending a future event, volunteering or donating to SAHARA, a non-profit agency that is dedicating to assisting South Asian survivors of domestic violence in a comprehensive and culturally-sensitive manner.
