Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who has apparently been spotted several times with actor Ranbir Kapoor, has triggered off a series of speculations. Grapevine has it that the actor is being considered for the filmmaker’s ambitious film Paani, whose lead actor apparently had been finalized as Hrithik Roshan.
Several rumors are floating around: the filmmaker is perhaps planning another film with Ranbir, or speculation that the young actor is being added to the cast of Paani. While the filmmaker is known not to divulge anything about his films, he, probably did feel the need to clear the air around his meetings with the actor. “Press asking y I’ve been seen w/Ranbir Kapoor. I really enjoy listenin 2 him. Future of Indian Cinema safe in this breed of new stars,” he tweeted on a social networking site on the weekend. While he’s letting everyone know how highly he thinks of Ranbir and his generation of actors, there’s no word on the status of Paani.
Last heard, Shekhar was figuring out the details of the film. He had earlier made its formal announcement at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival in 2010, but it is yet to go on the floors.
