CHICAGO: Hikma Herbal Lab, the first Indian traditional Herbal Supplement manufacturing facility in the USA, celebrated the “Hikma Herbal Lab Health Awareness Summit”, on the occasion of its First Anniversary on Saturday March 26 at Shalimar Banquet Hall in Addison, Illinois. The event was attended by a large number of eminent people from different walks of life.

Consul General of India in Chicago, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, was the Chief Guest at the event. He observed that alternative medicine has been gaining ground at a mind-boggling pace, across the globe. He stated that the Government of India formed a separate Ministry of AYUSH in order to give a big boost to education and research in Ayurveda, Yoga Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy, (AYUSH) and other alternative medicine systems.

Dr. Sayeed congratulated Hikma Herbal Lab, which he inaugurated last year, for its multifarious achievements in popularizing herbal medicine in general and ProHeart Fusion in particular, in a short span of time. He, however, underlined the need for rigorous research to test the reliability and validity of the herbal medicines in treating different ailments.

Raja Krishnamoorthi, Democratic nominee for the 8th Congressional District, stated that the herbal medicines in general and those originating in India in particular have great potential in the treatment of diseases, in a holistic fashion.

Syed Hussain Khundmiri, CEO & Founder of Hikma Herbal Lab, said that herbal medicines are a healthier, more convenient, and cost effective treatment for ailments. He stated that the major advantage of herbal medicines over the modern medicines is the absence of side effects of herbs compared with pharmaceutical medicines.

“ProHeart Fusion, a product of Hikma Herbal Lab, was presented for clinical trial at the Conference of Integrative Medicine, Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Illinois, Chicago on September 24, 2015. We are very optimistic that we will successfully complete the clinical trial this year”, he said.

Syed Ghiasuddin Khundmiri, Managing Director, laid down two top priorities: reaching more consumers and engaging the medical and traditional medicine communities. Towards reaching out to consumers, he said that Hikma Herbal Lab has partnered with New Royal Distributors to cater to 500 Indo-Pak stores in 12 Midwestern States, including three Pete’s Fresh Market locations in the Chicago area, signed an agreement with Mannadang to serve Korean community in the Southeast, and that efforts are under way to set up distribution in Texas to serve the Indo-Pak community.

The audience posed a number of health-related questions; the experts from the Hikma Herbal Lab provided informative and interesting answers to their satisfaction.

The guests were served sumptuous lunch which was relished by one and all. At the end of the event, all attendees went home with a bottle of ProHeart Fusion as a parting gift.
