Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan was deeply grieved on learning that the school, in which he had shot his film ‘3 Idiots’, was damaged in the recent flash floods in Leh that killed hundreds and left many homeless.

The place holds special significance for Aamir, especially ‘The Druk Pema School’, which falls just 15 km outside Leh town on the Leh-Manali highway. This was where the climax of his last film was canned.

The school was washed away after two cloudbursts led to flash floods and mudslides in the region. The school became popular as Rancho`s school after the success of Aamir Khan`s film. However, all of 190 students of the school were rescued.

Several foreigners have come forward to help restore the school by way of providing required assistance in any way possible.
