NAAIIP Chicago chapter event in Schaumburg
CHICAGO: North American Association of Indian IT Professionals (NAAIIP) recently conducted its 7th Chicago chapter event at Schaumburg public library in Schaumburg, a north side suburb of Chicago.
The meeting started with introductory remarks from Surya Dutta, NAAIIP secretary. Jill Lawoski from Upward Global was the key speaker of the event. She discussed the details of how to prepare oneself for an interview, tips of improving resume for immigrant workers. She explained the difference between resumes in USA and other countries.
She also explained how Upward Global could work with NAAIIP to get speeded up on helping immigrant workers in their job search. Then made a discussion about the topic with other NAAIIP members.
Tejas Shah, Attorney, Licensed New York and Illinois started his speech with more focus on immigrant workers issues in USA. He discussed more about different visas and connected issues.
He also discussed about global entry program. He presented a basic overview of the program, including the airports at which it is accepted, the application procedure, and the rights and responsibilities associated with Global Entry program, then there was an interactive session with Tejas answering questions from attendees about wide range of immigration related queries.
Group discussions continued on the state of current economy in USA and how NAAIIP could help their members in their job search. Company representatives had a parallel discussion about how to survive in recession and agreed to bring up their experiences for an event. After the discussions, Shoji Mathew announced the next event to be held on June 5.
