CHICAGO: Kadva Patidar Samaj (KPS) organized a Gala Diwali Celebration Dinner and Bollywood Music Night on November 8 at Ashyana Banquets in Downers Grove, a southwest suburb of Chicago

Over five hundred KPS members, families, friends, community leaders and well wishers from across Chicago gathered to celebrate this Gala Diwali Dinner Night. The live music was provided by Bhupinder Singh and his team.

The evening started with social hour. The Emcee was Raj Patel supported by Harmil Patel and Narendra Patel, and they welcomed all to celebrate Diwali. KPS president Vijay Patel and his executive committee and Board of directors, trustees, and advisory committee had worked very hard to bring the best Diwali program.

The KPS President invited Sponsors on stage and recognized them. Thanking the response given by the sponsor Shree Chhotalal Patel for this event they were called on stage and lighted Diwas while in the background Stuti was done. Also invited on the stage were some community leaders and well wishers.

Addressing the gathering, current President Vijay Patel said, “We are glad to be serving the Chicago Metropolitan area for many years. Our goals are to encourage people to explore and learn about rich Gujarati culture. Together let us keep this light lit for life and joy for many years to come.”

Chhotalal Patel also shared his thoughts and KPS visions to all invited guests. He announced that the Samaj will be working with other organizations to bring Shree Umiya Mata Rath from India for building a temple in future.

Narendra Patel and Dipak Desai recognized and thanked Jayantibhai Oza as media friend for always covering KPS programs. Jain of Ashyana Banquets was honored with a plaque for his support. Narendra Patel and President Vijay Patel recognized the contributions of KPS pioneer Dr VK Patel back in 1990s; saying that KPS lost him this year and “we pray for him and his family.” Narendra Patel then introduced the 2015-16 KPS team to be led by Rajesh Desai.

He also appreciated great work done by current president Vijay Patel, Vice President Bharat Patel and KPS team.
