CHICAGO: Every year the holy month of Ramadan gets families and friends together in Iftaar dinners.
The last ten days of Ramadan generate more religious and social activity including Iftaar dinners by big banners. It is also time when many non-Muslims join their Muslim friends for the taste of Ramadan Iftaar and share the moments of day-long fast breaking.
Etihad Airways has an exclusive lavish Iftaar dinner at The Langham downtown Chicago where heads of all its consolidator agents were invited. The event also coincided with introducing the new Director of Sales Vincent Frascogna who took over Chicago Sales office from Denis Harvill. Account Manager Mohammad Anwar and associate Khadija Alnofeli welcomed the guests and arranged for the fast breaking.
Anwar introduced Vincent Frascogna to all local travel agents in the feast. Umesh Patel of Sky Bird Travel, Birju Bhagat of Krisbi Travel, Siddiqui of Evia Travel, Rizwan of RK Travel, Prince of Imperial Travel and Asghar of Aero Travel were among the top consolidator heads invited for the event. Sami Khaja, Sales Manager of Jet Airways and other local dignitaries were seen among the guests.
Turkish Airlines hosted its annual Iftaar dinner for travel partners at Reza Restaurant in downtown Chicago. All Turkish Airlines approved consolidators and staff members were invited for the event.
Turkish Airlines Regional Commercial Manager Rahsan Acar and General Manager Levent Selvili, Regional Marketing Manager Kadir Mermi and other Chicago office members welcomed the guests and joined the iftaar dinner.
Soon after the dinner, GM Levent Selvili thanked the travel agency partners for their support and briefly spoke about newly introduced Boeing 777 in Chicago daily service.
He said the new aircraft with 3+3+3 configuration in economy offers most comfortable seating in economy and full flat bed in business class. He also spoke about the personal service of Turkish Chef on board even for economy passengers for the choice of their meal.
Masood Akram of Sky Bird Travel Chicago hosted an Iftaar at his residence where most local travel agent friends joined, including PIA ex Manager Shaid Jamal and Sales Manager Sajid Siddiqui. Umesh Patel and Vikram from Sky Bird also joined the Iftaar dinner and greeted all travel agency friends. A word of appreciation for Umesh Patel of Sky Bird Travel who was present for almost all Iftaars.
While Chicago’s veteran community leader Iftekhar Shareef was away for Ramadan vacation, he was notably seen in social media enjoying Iftaar dinners with top political leaders, including Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao and other dignitaries in Hyderabad. He himself hosted an Iftaar at his Shamsabad residence for the area policemen.
