NEW YORK: The biggest star of the Indian film industry, Akshay Kumar, has collaborated with Kylie Minogue who makes her Bollywood debut in Akshay’s forthcoming film, Blue, the most expensive Bollywood action movie to date.
Kylie was in Mumbai where she spent time with Akshay ahead of the 8-day shooting schedule where they filmed the music video for the film. She has recorded two songs for the film including the title track, which has been composed by multi-Oscar winner A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire). Blue is an underwater thriller and has seen filming take place in locations such as Bahamas and Bangkok.
Akshay Kumar is a true international player, who continues to break into the mainstream. He has collaborated with Snoop Dogg, who recorded the title track and music video for his 2008 release, Singh is Kinng. The film broke international box office records by having the biggest opening of a Bollywood film to date, across US, UK, Middle East and India.
Akshay’s recent release, Chandni Chowk to China, marked Warner Bros. Pictures’ first ever Bollywood production. His forthcoming film, Kambakht Ishq, sees him starring alongside Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh. Akshay plays a stuntman based in LA in the film. The estimated budget for the film is over Rs 100 crores (approx $19,391,997).
