CHICAGO: It was a meet and greet reception hosted by Indian Consul General Ms. Neeta Bhushan on the occasion of the visit of Anurag Bhushan, Joint Secretary in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and also her husband, to Chicago at her residence on Sunday March 11 that was graced by leading community and business leaders from different walks of life.
With strong academic credentials that include a graduate degree in engineering and a Post Graduate Degree in Management from prestigious educational institutions like Indian Institute of Technology and Indian Institute of Management, respectively, Anurag Bhushan however, hugely impressed the Indian diaspora with his straight forward talk and humility.
He talked about the rich contribution that Indian Diaspora have been making to enrich the socio-economic and educational fabric of the countries he served during his long career spanning about two-and-a-half decades. His rich diplomatic experience across the globe proved to be not only an icing on the cake but also made the interactions a great platform of learning for the guests.
“Both of them achieved excellence in foreign affairs and at the same time did full justice to the genuine demands of their family”, opined all the guests unanimously and added that their achievements on professional and family fronts should become a source of inspiration for working couples who encounter multiple challenges in meeting the demands of their profession and family.
The presence of highly eminent persons at the reception, representing a number of organizations run by Indian-Americans, belonging to different regions, religions, and languages, made the evening a memorable affair. It came to a close with a sumptuous dinner, comprising tasty cuisine representing different regions of India, which was relished by one and all.
Ms. Bhushan thanked all the guests for gracing the reception.
