MTV stars take up challenge to try Veganism

Nikhil accepts challengeShruti accepts challengeNEW DELHI: In times where celebrities and politicians are talking about animal rights and protection, many social media influencers are making head way by endorsing a vegan lifestyle. Recently, Rohan Hingorani collaborated with the Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO) to promote veganism and even challenged his friends to take up the 21 Day Compassion Challenge, which encourages people to try veganism for 21 days.
Rohan, who has been on a plant-based diet for many years, truly believes that this diet has changed his life. He shares, “Going vegan has brought a significant positive shift in me. I feel blessed to have discovered veganism early on in my life and I am keen to help people make the switch to a greener diet. I hope that many people take up the 21 day vegan pledge and benefit from this diet.”
Along with doing an Instagram LIVE for his 272k followers, Rohan also challenged three of his friends and social media influencers to try vegan for 21 days. They are Samyuktha Hegde of MTV Splitsvilla and Roadies fame; Nikhil Chinapa Shruti Sinha, Rohan’s co-star on MTV Splitsvilla.
With the rise of vegan alternatives in the market, there is a palpable increase in the percentage of people who know about veganism and its benefits. FIAPO’s Executive Director, Ms. Varda Mehrotra, “This year is going to be extremely special for veganism in India, and it’s exciting to have so many supporters with us. The #21DayCompassionChallenge is going to be a serious topic of discussion soon, like the Ice Bucket Challenge got people talking about ALS, we hope today’s youth realizes that veganism is good for the animals, for the environment and for us.”
