CHICAGO: Nartan Dance Academy, a front ranking dance academy in Chicago, celebrated its 30th Navratri Mahotsav at Bowling Brook High School in Bolling Brook IL on October 8.
More than 1300 participants and well wishers of the institution enjoyed this Raas-Garba supported by grant from Illinois Art Council.
The near four hour program started with Slokas and ended with well sung Mataji Chhadi.
All traditional items – Raas, Garba, Hinch, Sanedo and Aarti – were the highlights of the event and interestingly all these performances were performed by locals and done Live by Hitesh Master and Group.
The Nartan Dance Academy Director and Choreographer Mrugakshiben said that she has been running this academy for the last 30 years and has 40 members including Dr. Himansu Patel, Dr. Shakuntala Adati and Mahendrabhai Patel.
