NEW YORK: The New York Tamil Sangam hosted a reception in honor of Vanathi Srinivasan, a leading attorney and general secretary of Tamil Nadu unit of Bharatiya Janata Party in Manhattan recently.
Srinivasan was in the US as the guest of the US State Department to take part in the young political leaders program under which politicians under the age of 40 are invited from across the world by the US Government to study the political system here.
She shared her thoughts on the uniqueness of the program that helped her to interact with politicians from different nations, understanding of the political and judicial system and her meetings with the administration officials in Washington.
She also touched upon the Indian political system and explained the steps taken by BJP President Nitin Gadkari to infuse young blood and provide new direction to the party.
Dr. S. Giridharan, committee member presented her with a shawl and spoke about her role in Tamil Nadu politics.
