NEW DELHI: US President Barack Obama gifted a “rare book” which contains among other things a paper by Swami Vivekananda to Narendra Modi, during his recent visit to America, the Prime Minister today said.
The book is on the Parliament of World’s Religions of 1893 which has a paper of Swami Vivekananda whose writings are known to have influenced Modi.
The PM said that he will “cherish” the “very valuable gift” forever.
“President @BarackObama presented to me a very valuable gift that I will cherish forever. He gave me a rare book on the Parliament of World’s Religions of 1893. The book contains a paper of Swami Vivekananda,” the Prime Minister tweeted.
