NEW YORK: Punjabi television channel, PTC Punjabi, celebrated its launch on Dish Network on Channel no 604 in USA on October 9 at Golden Terrace Banquet, Richmond Hill, New York.
PTC Punjabi launch party and gala dinner was attended by more than 650 guests from Punjabi community from all walks of life such as prominent community leaders, businesspersons, media and cultural organizations heads, as well as leaders of various political, religious and academic organizations. The evening provided a lively forum for interaction among the Punjabi community during the five hour long evening that ended with a gala dinner.
Rabindra Narayan, Founder and President, Rajiee Shinde, Co-founder and COO, Sunil Hali, the man responsible for bringing PTC Punjabi to the US and Canada along with Harbhajan Singh, his partner and Director, personally received each guest as they approached the main hall for the social hour.
The main attraction of the evening of celebration was the Punjabi sensation and much liked by the Punjabis all around the world, the “Tutak Tuttak Tuttiyan” fame – Malkit Singh, recognized as the pioneer in taking Punjabi music global. He had flown from London to perform at the event. The audience was enthralled at the moment he came of the stage, and a spirit of celebration could be felt in the air. Kids danced to his tunes and guests clapped with his songs.
The channel was unveiled with the show reel of PTC Punjabi which was played on the two special large screens and on the six plasma screens all over the hall. The show reel reflected the qualitative superiority of the PTC Punjabi and included glimpses of all the major shows on the channel and currently being produced by the channel. PTC Punjabi in the US and Canada is a specially created custom feed with programming from PTC Punjabi, PTC News and PTC Chak de from PTC network in India to provide premium programming that exceed sixteen hours of daily fresh programs, unmatched by any Punjabi channel in the US ever.
It was a comprehensive demonstration reel and clearly registered the objective of the channel to showcase the roots of Punjab through Gurbani, News, Entertainment, Cultural shows and mega reality shows made possible only by PTC Punjabi.
Rabindra Narayan stressed the fact that PTC Punjabi will ensure a very high quality programming that is international in standards in every respect and reach every Punjabi household in the US and Canada.
Rajiee maintained “PTC Network has always strived to provide more than just television to every Punjabi. It strives to be a part of their everyday life and we are glad that through Dish network we are also able to touch every Punjabi’s life in the US”.
Dr. Ruby Dhalla (MP, Canada) was the guest of honor at the event who offered her full support to PTC Punjabi channel and team in US and Canada. She also presented honors to each team member from her side to recognize and appreciate their efforts to launch PTC Punjabi in US and Canada.
