PHAGWARA, Punjab: The 108th state-level Puja Mahaotsav Samagam of Lord Vishwakarma was celebrated here with religious fervor at historic Shiromani Vishwakarma temple on Phagwara-Banga road.
Over one lakh devotees, including a large number of women, paid obeisance at the temple. They came from far and wide, including various parts of country, particularly Punjab, as well as abroad.

They started making a beeline at the temple in the wee hours of this morning. Long lines of devotees were seen throughout the day.

Sukhdev Singh Riyait, national President, All India Ramgarhia Welfare Federation was the chief guest. Rajinder Singh Riyait headed the Reception committee.

The celebration was organized by a local team Vishwakarma Dhiman Sabha headed by Balwant Rai Dhiman.
Charanjit Singh Sohal, IPS officer and Rupinder Singh Aeri, ADC Fazlika were bestowed Vishwakarma Award. Singers Jasbir Bhamra, Pinder Gill, Surinder Mehli, Meenu Atwal, Tarlok Dhiman, Aman Khangura, Jatinder Gupta regaled the congregation with religious songs highlighting life and message of the deity.

Central minister and Hoshiarpur MP Vijay Sampla, Phagwara MLA and BJP stalwart Som Parkash Kainth, former Punjab minister and district congress President Joginder Singh Mann, while addressing the mammoth gathering, said that Bhagwan Vishwakarma was a divine creator and founder architect of the universe. “From a small needle to a gigantic ship, everything is His handiwork,” they remarked. They called upon people to follow his teachings.
