Vidya Balan, who is known to rein-vent herself in every film, will now be seen playing a loud Punjabi housewife with a bizarre sense of fashion in Raj Kumar Gupta’s quirky comedy Ghanchakkar.
Vidya says, “I had great fun playing Nitu Bhatia. She’s the hatti-katti Punjabi housewife who we all know. She is the cat’s whiskers when it comes to fashion. She is the sort of woman who goes for a walk one day and feels ‘exercise kar li na, toh ek aur samosa khaane mein koi harj nai.’ My costume designer, Subarna Rai Chaudhari, went mad tring to put together the look. What she wears is almost outlandish and even bizarre sometimes… but that’s Nitu for you!”
Producer of the film UTV Motion Pictures is also planning an exhibition of clothes that Vidya wears in the film.
