SBI officials meet seniors at IAC
CHICAGO: Suresh Kumar, CEO State Bank of India Chicago, said here that it was not possible for his bank to branch out to Devon Avenue despite strong and persistent demand from members of the Indian community in the wake of certain technical problems.
SBI is dubbed a foreign bank and it has to observe stiffer regulations and restrictions while branching out. Short of full fledged banking transactions, SBI could help out the community thru starting a facility in the area that would explain the details of its operations and pass on other relevant information for opening account, money transfer, etc, he said while responding to a question during a meet at Indo American Center ( IAC) in Chicago. He detailed various services offered by SBI and informed about continued efforts to modernize its operations thru technological innovations.
Suresh Kumar and Vice President Personal Banking and administration, Deep Chand, were invited to meet the members and guests of IAC last week. Sher Mohammed Rajput, IAC director gave short trip of IAC to both Suresh Kumar and Deep Chand before introducing them to members and guests numbering 70 plus. It was a small informal luncheon meeting attended by many seniors.
Jay Luthra, IAC chief was present during the meet. S Limbachia of IAC proposed vote of thanks.
