SCE incentives for completing energy-use surveys

ROSEMEAD, CA: Southern California Edison (SCE) is offering incentives to customers who complete a Home Energy-Efficiency Survey. SCE is also making a small donation to participating school districts for each completed survey returned by parents.

Most customers who complete the survey will be rewarded with a $10 gift card from Starbucks. Those in participating school districts will receive a $5 Cold Stone Creamery gift card, plus a $5 donation to their child’s school. The surveys eligible for a Cold Stone Creamery gift card plus a $5 school donation will be brought home by students. The program runs through Wednesday, Dec. 15, or until supplies last, so customers are encouraged to take their surveys as soon as possible.

“The online or mail-in Home-Energy Efficiency Survey is a 30-minute investment. For that, our customers will not only get energy-saving solutions specific to them, but great incentives,” said Gene Rodrigues, SCE’s director of Energy Efficiency and Customer Solar. “We have free and low-cost energy-saving solutions for nearly every customer, whether they’re renters, homeowners, businesses, schools, nonprofits or government.”

In addition to the gift cards, each customer who completes the Home Energy-Efficiency Survey will receive a free home energy kit containing:
* Two compact fluorescent light bulbs, which are 75 percent more energy efficient than regular incandescent bulbs and last up to 10 times longer.

* Three water-saving faucet aerators.
* One low-flow showerhead.
* One ultra-efficient LED (light-emitting diode) night light.
Customers completing the survey will also receive a free, personalized energy-and water-analysis that will help them:
* Understand their annual water and energy use.
* Pinpoint which household appliances and equipment are likely to use the most energy and water.
* Compare their usage patterns with similar homes in their neighborhood.
* Learn cost-saving ideas and conservation tips.

Schools participating in this program are located in Chino, Chino Hills, Corona del Mar, Costa Mesa, Diamond Bar, Irvine, La Puente, Malibu, Moreno Valley, Newhall, Newport Beach, Ontario, Orange, Palm Desert, Rowland Heights, San Bernardino, Santa Monica, Saugus, Valencia, Walnut and West Covina.
