Seniors celebrate 12 years of successful journey

CHICAGO: Indian Seniors of Chicago celebrated their 12 years of successful journey providing social, cultural and religious programs for the benefit of members and Indian community. The event was held at Manav Seva Mandir, Benselville, on Saturday 21st December, 2013. Over 300 members attended the program.

Hirabhai Patel welcomed all on behalf of Executive saying that this program was for family of seniors and therefore everybody should enjoy as a family event rather than a public event. The highlight of the program was a musical concert from Kamlesbhai and party. Executive member and past president of Gujarati Samaj, Manubhai Shah introduced members of Executive Committee. Naranbhai Mody invited Rohitbhai Joshi and Smt. Madhuben Patel on stage for Deep Pragatya (lamp lighting).

Dr. Narsinhbhai gave a brief history of Indian Seniors of Chicago and invited Chief Guest Chhotabhai Patel, Guest of Honour Dr.Bharatbhai Barai and Dahyabhai Prajapati on stage. Rohitbhai Joshi recited slokas for Deep Pragatya ceremony and Hema Shastri and Madhuben Patel requested the guests to light the Deep Pragatya. Narsinbhai Patel studied B.Sc., D.P.Ed and PhD. He has written five books on physical education and many articles on physical education & sports. He represented Gujarat University Kho-Kho and Kabaddi team at all India Inter University Kho-Kho & Kabaddi tournaments.

CV Desai called selected senior members Dilip Patel, Naginbhai Mehta, Manilal Patel, Chandrakant Patel, Bipin Shah and Smt. Madhuben Patel one by one on stage for recognition. Then Chief Guest Chhotubhai Patel was requested to speak on this occasion.

A successful businessmen in Stainless Steal processing area, Chhotubhai is a very simple man in his behavirour and is always ready to help. He was happy and appreciated the well managed program of Indian Seniors of Chicago.
Then second session of musical program was started with songs selected by audience. All the sponsers were appreciated by Indian Seniors of Chicago with a flower and token. Pre recorded songs CD was played during dinner time and then live songs were continued. Everybody enjoyed the celebration and appreciated the whole program. Vice President Dr.Rasikbhai Shah gave vote of thanks.
