Tamil IT pros celebrate Jayalalithaa’s victory

webFREMONT, CA: Over hundred software professionals, mostly Tamils, converged at a common place to celebrate the historical victory of AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa in the Assembly elections. Joy knew no bounds for them following the massive mandate given by the people to make Amma take the reins once again for the sixth time.

Abdulla Khan, an IT professional, took the initiative to mobilize software professionals, mostly Tamils working in different places in US. A native of Katrapalayam in Madurai, Abdulla Khan settled down with his family in Fremont City.

Abu has been an ardent follower of Jayalalithaa right from his college days. He has been organizing functions to commemorate the birthday of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa every year. In a step further, Abu placed an ad in the front page of all editions of MakkalKural during Amma’s 68th birthday on February 22 this year.

Cutting cakes, distributing sweets and snacks marked the celebration of Amma’s poll victory. Software professionals also organized a common feast as part of the fete in US. Abu says, “I was attracted towards her forthrightness in taking quick decisions keeping in view the welfare of people at large. Moreover, this time, she contested the polls sans any alliance partners since she was confident about winning with a majority to be back on the saddle.”

Abdulla said he made it a point to post her achievements in the portal he had developed during the last Lok Sabha elections. Jayalalithaa’s pathbreaking initiatives as Chief Minister have been appreciated by Tamils living in different parts of US. Earlier also, Abdulla Khan had released a full page color ad to greet Jayalalithaa on her 66th birthday in 2014 in a popular Tamil magazine ‘Thendral’ being run by Tamils in US. This time, Abu conducted an election campaign through net by creating memes and write-ups on the achievements of Jayalalithaa.
