Telugu University music courses in Dallas

TANA-2DALLAS, TX: Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has striven hard to bring exquisite Indian classical music closer to the younger generation of kids growing up in USA. On Sunday, October 19, TANA Past President Dr Thotakura Prasad, TANA Southwest Region Coordinator Dr Rajesh Adusumilli and accomplished music teacher Mrs Meenakshi Anipindi officially launched the TANA-Pottisreeramulu Telugu University Music Courses in Dallas in the holy premises of Shri Shirdi Sai Sannidhi in Frisco.

These courses are receiving huge response from parents and children from all over USA. Expressing his happiness about these music courses TANA President Mohan Nannapaneni mentioned that this is a significant milestone in the history of TANA that has always been striving to preserve and propagate Telugu language and culture for future generations.

Speaking at the music courses inauguration ceremony, Dr Prasad Thotakura mentioned that this is a golden opportunity for all the music enthusiasts who are learning Carnatic music in USA to get music certification from a reputed University in India. After completion of two years of course work, examiners from the Telugu University will come over to USA to conduct exams and provide University certifications.

He announced that gradually these courses will be offered in all major cities across USA and reputed music teacher Mrs Meenakshi Anipindi will be the USA Coordinator for these courses. TANA Southwest Regional Coordinator Dr Rajesh Adusumilli informed that more details about this course will be available on www.TANA.org website.

Speaking on the occasion, Music courses Coordinator Mrs Anipindi observed that previously students had to take a lot of extra efforts to go to India to take these exams. Students don’t have to go through that anymore and she requested all interested students to utilize this wonderful opportunity.

To mark this auspicious occasion, a devotional concert of Annamacharya compositions was organized by TANA and Suswara Academy of Music. Famous music artist from India Parupalli Satyanarayana accompanied by Parupalli Balasubramaniam on mrudangam and Sita Jayant on violin rendered several mellifluous Annamacharya keerthanas. Student of Suswara Academy Harish Yarlagadda also recited some famous keertanas. They all received huge applause from the large number of music enthusiasts who attended this event.

TANA team members Sreekanth Polavarapu, Chala Kondrakunta, community notables C.R. Rao, Dr. Alla Srinivas Reddy, Venkat Mulukutla, Nasim Shaik, several parents and students participated in this event and made it a grand success.
