The Grand Trunk shows the best

FREMONT: Komal Anand started The Grand Trunk in 2005 as a dream which has now turned to be a passion in her life. Started as a studio which had the best of Indian fashion under one roof, the store has now grown into a well known entity and has gained in name and recognition for being the best in terms of Indian designer ensembles.
With many new collections and preview shows happening twice a year, it features the best of garments. The Grand Trunk is well and truly, on its way to setting a benchmark in Indian fashion statements.
The Grand Trunk is the first official store to carry Sabyasachi Mukherjee, JJ Valaya and Anamika Khanna in US. Komal is credited with producing and choreographing the first Sabyasachi Fashion show in US in 2004 at Miami Fashion Week. In 2006, The Grand Trunk and Sabyasachi hosted the first and only Trunk show along with designers Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Shantanu & Nikhil at Atherton, CA.
They carry the largest collection of saris, suits and lehangas from Sabyasachi Mukherjee, JJ Valaya and Anamika Khanna. With over 18,000 clients all over the globe, they specialize in bridal outfits from India’s top designers. They are the official retail partners for the top Indian designers and ship globally to over 20 countries.
Komal explains, “Sabyasachi Mukherjee is now a global name and he believes clothes are just extensions of one’s intellect. He is a passionate admirer of saris and feels it as the best female dress – non-aggressive, lyrical, feminine. Top Bollywood actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan flaunt his collections.”

The Grand Trunk show for bridal collections is held twice a year – around February and one during Diwali. The latest show was held on October 27 and witnessed elite clients of the Bay area.
Over 200 guests checked out the event for their Diwali collections.
GT gets the garments straight from designer workshops in Calcutta. It brought the Sridevi sari and many more Sabyasachi classic collections to the show on 12th and 13th October in New Jersey, and the show was a huge success.
