Volunteers fast in support of Anna Hazare

TUSTIN, CA: A three-day fast was observed here at Peace Home, Norwood Park Place, by some volunteers from August 22 in support of Anna Hazare, who has been fasting to free India from corruption. While Sundari C’Ganti and Vishakha Purandare fasted for all three days, six volunteers joined a one-day fast in the Southern California location and 52 others joined the fast from multiple other locations. Many more showed their support and joined the fast for two days. Some of the supporters wanted to continue the fast if the Indian government continued to show their inability to defuse the situation.
The atmosphere at Peace Home was joyous and peaceful. Everyone was feeling healthy and full of energy. They spent time following the news from Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, where Anna Hazare is fasting, and news about the Indian anti-corruption movement from across the world.
Many of the supporters including family and friends called to inquire about their well being. After the fast, all the volunteers gathered at the Peace Home for prayers for Anna’s health.
