Zimbabwe targets 16,000 Indian travelers by 2021

Zimbabwe targets 16000 Indian travelers by 2021MUMBAI: The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has said it has appointed VFS Global to promote the country in both India and the Gulf, and eyes 16,000 travelers from the sub-continent by 2021.”Zimbabwe has recently targeted India as a primary market due to the rapid growing disposable incomes in India. India is a huge market for us; hence the modest approach to target at least 16,000 Indian travelers by 2021. This will be done through sustainable destination marketing done by VFS Global,” ZTA Chief Executive Karikoga Kaseke said in a release.
As part of the agreement, VFS Global will support ZTA to build an identity of Zimbabwe as a potential tourist destination by spreading awareness among tour operators, travel agents, meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) planners and the general travelers based in India or the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
“Zimbabwe is strengthening their tourism business and entering their potential markets. We are pleased to partner with ZTA to put this country that has so much of untapped tourism potential on the world map for travelers from India and GCC who can now experience the beautiful nation,” VFS Global Regional Group COO Jiten Vyas added.
Zimbabwe is home to Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world and a world heritage site, and will promote tourism in the eastern highlands, wildlife and nature among others to attract Indians travelers, he added. PTI
