PHAGWARA: The 5th two-day ‘Prativad’ (Contestation), an annual Inter- School Competition and one of the greatest gala events, was organized at GNA University near here on December 7 & 8.

Over 1000 students from 60 schools of Punjab took part in 12 academic and cultural contests. The first day not only focused on bringing forth the young talent but also nurturing and developing competitive spirit among the students.

Students participated in different competitions like Robotronz, Young Chef Competition, Photography, Peripherals, Gaming Mania, Get Set Fly, E-Treasure Hunt, Voice of Doaba, Graphic Design, Photoshop, Commerce Olympiad, Spell Bee, etc.

The program began with lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, Pro-Chancellor of the University, and other dignitaries. He congratulated the young students who came to grab the opportunity to meet and compete with their peers.

He also ensured that GNA University focuses to encourage the young talent so that they can enrich their profile and become employable along with increasing their competency and confidence.

  1. Gursaran Singh Sihra, Varsity Chancellor, was the Chief Guest on the 2nd day and was very much impressed by the diverse talent of the participants. He stressed that champions are made by strong vision, determination, persistence, skill and will.

He said, “The time is not far when GNA University will be producing future leaders and making Phagwara a brainy city.”

Dr VK Rattan, Vice-Chancellor and Babita Kler, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), headquartered at Phagwara, also graced the occasion.

The contests carried cash prize of Rs 11,000 for the first position, Rs 5100 for the second and Rs 3100 for the third positions.

Gaming Mania– Police D.A.V public school (CS22)
Photography – Parvati Jain School, Jalandhar
Young Chef Competition– Cambridge International for girls, Jalandhar
Photography– Kamla Nehru Public School Phagwara
Graphic Design– Doaba Area Senior Secondary School
Know Your Vehicle– GMA City Public School, Singriwala, Hoshiarpur
Get Set Fly– Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar
Peripherals Get Together– Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji Public School, Sarhand
Photoshop – D A Sen. Sec. School, Nurmahal
Spell Bee Championship- Cambridge International School, Jalandhar
Commerce Olympiad– BSF Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar
Voice of Doaba- Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar
Robotronz- Cambridge international School, Jalandhar
