While the students and tech-savvy people are going mad about Datawind’s cheapest tablet ‘Aakash’, its competitor is already on the roll to grab user’s attention.

Rohit Pande, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta has launched an education tablet called Classpad.

The Classpad, priced in the range of Rs 7,500-14,000, comes in three models: Classpad 7, Classpad 8 and Classpad 10. Compared to Aakash tablet’s battery life of around one and half hours, Classpad runs without fail for more than 6 hours.

Though rates of Aakash tab have been subsidized to Rs 1,700 for mass distribution in schools, from the original cost of Rs 2,500, the Classpad is a bit costly as it offers richer media and interactivity with more apps and a wider syllabus, longer battery life of seven hours compared with Aakash’s 1.5 hours and better touch experience.

Classpad gives a better battery life, supports 1.3 Ghz processing speed and a built-in memory of 4 Gb which can be expandable to 8Gb. With the magic of artificial intelligence and Android platform, it has got all to woo the young guns.

Designed for the students of standard 3 to 12, Classpad can serve as an interactive e-reading device, with the capability of storing dozens of books. Interestingly, it can also be attached to interactive classroom boards.

Commenting on the launch, Rohit Pande, CEO, Classteacher Learning Systems said that, they had been working on it for the last four years and with the study device their aim was to create a personalized learning experience.

It’s a lovely book. It feels energetically clear and light. It’s easy to read, dip in and out and most importantly it offers information without fluff! Blessings on this project.
