CHICAGO: Greeting Air India passengers and all patrons on the eve of Christmas holidays, Malini Vaidyanathan, Midwest Manager of the airline, has said that the hand baggage allowance of eight kg includes all duty-free purchase weight. Any excess weight over and above the eight kg limit will be chargeable at departure/transit or arrival wherever detected.

She said that the passengers are requested to ensure that their contact details at origin and turn-around points are conveyed by their travel agencies and updated in Air India PNRs.

“This helps us to provide you with timely information regarding any changes to our flights” she said.

A Star Alliance member with a modern fleet, Air India’s flight AI 126 departs from Chicago at 1230 hours every day. It has non-stop flights from Chicago, Newark, New York, San Francisco and Washington that offers comfortable seating and payable seat selection options in Economy section, and free seat selection in First and Business classes.

It has a popular frequent flyer program that one can enroll online and a global combined network of flights and lounges through Star Alliance membership.

Air India networks globally and it does reach small towns of India through its subsidiaries Air India Express and Alliance Air. Choice of meals can be booked through either through travel agents or from the Air India website.
