Alia Bhatt & Varun Dhawan performed at LPU Campus

PHAGWARA: On a promotional event for their film Kalank on the eve of Baisakhi festival, Bollywood’s stars Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan April 12 visited Lovely Professional University (LPU) where both performed energetically among of students who were eager to meet them.

Considered heart-throbs of cine-goers countrywide and glorified as youth icons globally, both Alia and Varun admitted openly that they had an amazing experience on the LPU stage.

Excited to be being among long rows of students, both actors performed four full songs of their forthcoming periodic film Kalank set in pre-independent India.

Both of them said that coming to LPU felt like appearing for a final Examination after full preparation.

The day being the eve of the Punjab’s great festival Baisakhi, both of them danced the Bhangra to dhol beats.

The star-actors also interacted specifically with LPU students of Journalism and Film Production Department.

In response to questions by the journalism students, Varun talked about his daily hectic routine, management of time, gym exercises, fixed diet, and ‘Punjabiyat’ chemistry with Alia Bhatt.

He also shared: “LPU has such a lovely environ that both Alia and I want to get enrolled here for further studies.”

After his last performance, Varun proved his Punjabi stance once again and drew lusty cheers from crowd by bidding all a Punjabi adieu with “Bole so Nihal, Sat Sri Akal”.

Alia Bhatt too enjoyed the atmosphere and said: “I had never seen such a big, amazing and disciplined crowd of students before in my life”.

She shared with the students her experience of working in a multi-starrer movies with senior actors. She told them that seniors are always supportive of their juniors.

“Moreover, each character has its own story which is ultimately intertwined with other characters,” she said.

She also performed to a classical number “Ghar More Pardeshiya” along with students of LPU. Prior to this, Varun and Alia had presented a scintillating performance on the new song “Kalank nahin, Ishq hae kajal piya”.

Earlier, Lovely Group Chairman Ramesh Mittal, Vice Chairman Naresh Mittal, LPU Chancellor  Ashok Mittal, Pro-Chancellor Rashmi Mittal, and Director  Aman Mittal welcomed the stars at the campus.

On the occasion, a 100-meter long and 18-feet wide special ramp was built to facilitate students to  have a close look of the stars.
