BOSTON: James Brett, president of the New England Council and Becca Gould, senior vice president for public affairs of the American Tower Corporation helped organize a special meeting between the New England business people with Indian Ambassador to the US Harsh Vardhan Shringla last week. More than 50 people attended meeting.

The prime objective was to promote trade relations with India and learn more about India’s situation from the Ambassador. In the meeting, Ambassador Shringla gave answers to questions by those attending about new business and investment opportunities, trade rules and regulations in India.

He made them aware of the current situation and ease of doing business and investments policies in India.A grand dinner reception was arranged to honor the Ambassador by the India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB) at the ball room of the Curry Student Center, Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts.

IAGB president Sanjay Gowda and Raj Echambadi, and Dean of the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University, welcomed Ambassador Shringla,

Indian Consul General in New York Sandeep Chakravorty, Kanchan Banerjee of the Boston Center of Excellence for Health and Human Development and K.V. Kumar, president and CEO of Indian American International Chamber of Commerce were invited to the stage. IAGB directors Prag Singh and Sanjay Kudrimoti introduced more than 20 Indian regional community organizations and other community leaders to the Ambassador and Consul General with their roles in the community and focus of activities. More than 150 community leaders attended the program.

Vaishali Gade, vice president of IAGB gave the vote of thanks. She thanked Northeastern University for supporting the event. She also appreciated the services and time given by the volunteers.

 

Dinner was served by the Godavari Restaurant of Framingham. This program was organized with the support of Boston Center of Excellence, Northeastern University Center for Emerging Markets, Indian American Chamber of Commerce, Milan Cultural Association, and the Global Indians for Bharat Vikas.
