Bhagwat Katha recital to be held at Lemont Hindu Temple

CHICAGO: A recital of Shrimad Bhagwat Katha by Devkinandan Thakur Maharaj is scheduled to be held from September 13 to 19 at Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago in Lemont under the auspices of Vishwa Shanti Sewa Charitable Mission, USA.

Devkinandan Thakur has been reciting and discussing Shrimad Bhagwat Katha for the last 20 years with the objectives of providing knowledge of Sanskrit, culture and sacraments and rituals for welfare of the society, and also to establish world peace. Chicagoans have an opportunity to be a part of this divine journey and benefit from its virtues this September.

Thakur is coming to the US to enlighten the people about the Indian civilization, culture, glory, and magnificence of Shrimad Bhagwat Katha and its importance for world peace.

Thakur was awarded the title of “Shantidoot” (Peace Messenger) by Nimbarkacharaya Jagadguru Shri Maharaj in 2007. He has been honored with the title of “Dharamratna” by Shankaracharaya in December 2017 along with the title of “Sanatan Dharam Sanrakshak” by Kashi Vidhat Parishad in May last year.

Vishwa Shanti Sewa Charitable Trust, established in 2006, is building the Aashray Seva Sadan in at Braj Mandal, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, to shelter orphans.

Under the guidance of Devkinandan Thakur, discourses and visits throughout the world for promoting messages of peace are organized. Several campaigns against social evils have been conducted.
